Easter Event Aims to Connect Families with Local Resources

Toledo, Ohio, March 5, 2013- Toledo is a city blessed with several non-profits and community organizations that work tirelessly to help those in need. These organizations willingly donate their time and money to help with everything from food to health care to education. Unfortunately, those who need assistance are not always aware of the help around them.

The Ohio Association of Foodbanks, via its AmeriCorps program, is sponsoring an Easter Family Resource Event to connect Toledo families with local programs and non-profits. Everyone is invited to attend this free event and learn more about how organizations in the area can assist struggling families. Residents of South Toledo are especially encouraged to attend.

The event will take place March 23 from 1-4 p.m. at the Believe Center, located at 1 Aurora Gonzales Drive off of South Avenue. Representatives from various community organizations will set up informational tables and be available to answer questions. An Easter egg hunt for children 10 years of age and younger will take place at 2:30.

Organizations at the event will include AmeriCorps, The Believe Center, Buckeye Health, EOPA Head Start, Health By Choice, A Renewed Mind, Toledo Area Ministries and South Toledo Community Center. Donations for the event have been provided by Andy’s Carryout.

For more information contact the event’s organizer, Andrea Vasquez at (419) 917-3884.
